Supported clients. MMO World folders, Gate to Heavens and Gate to Heavens Classic, every RF Online version from 1.0.5 to 4.55, and World of Kung Fu, with the game and version detected from the folder you open.
The workbench. Maps, models, scripts and textures open side by side as tabs over one client and one project, with panels you can resize and a status bar that says what is running.
Map editor. Place and edit monster spawns, NPCs, portals, regions, props, lights and sounds, with the creature standing at every spawn and move, rotate and scale handles.
Map tools. Box selection, select alike, copy and paste, snapping, prop brushes, prefabs, measuring, saved views, find across maps and undo for every step.
Problems check. A live list of what is wrong on the map, such as a portal leading nowhere, with a click to go to each one.
Barriers and walk grids. Draw RF Online's collision walls and paint walkable areas.
Lights and lightmaps. Add lights, bake lightmaps and edit animated materials in the FX panel.
Importing. Bring in your own props as glTF, GLB, FBX or OBJ, or build a whole map from a 3D scene.
Projects and Install. Every edit stays in a project until you press Install, which lists each file it will change, writes the client and the server together, backs up what it replaces and can put it all back.
Linked servers. Link a server folder to edit what the server places as well as what the client draws.
Server panel. Start, stop and watch the linked game server and its control panel from inside Studio.
Model viewer. Browse every character, creature and item by name, turn it around under the game's lighting or a studio rig, and play any animation with a scrubber and speed control.
Dress-up. Put armour, weapons, hair and faces on player characters, with RF Online's upgrade glows.
Spells and effects. Cast RF Online's forces, skills and animus effects on a model, and edit an effect's files.
Animation editing. Trim, retime, reverse and splice clips, and key a bone, saved back in the game's own animation files.
Capture. Save stills up to 4K with an optional transparent background, four-angle sheets, turntable and animation GIFs, and glTF files for Blender.
Photo mode. Take a clean picture of a map or model at any size up to 8K, without the window around it.
Hot reload. Extract a model's textures and meshes into the project, edit them in your own tools, and see the model reload with every save.
Packs. Browse, search and extract the files inside RF Online, World of Kung Fu and Gate to Heavens archives, and repack an archive with your changes.
Texture recolour. Shift hue, saturation, brightness and contrast or replace one colour with another, watch the model change, and save in the game's own texture format.
Server scripts and NPC dialog. Edit a server's Lua scripts with syntax colouring and a live check, and edit Gate to Heavens NPC dialog text.
MMO Worlds. Start a game of your own in the open MMO World format, with heightmap terrain, a walkable grid, glTF models and a world graph that shows every map and the portals between them.
Exporters. Lua scripts in a world write your game's own files from its maps, and Studio asks before one first writes outside the world's folder.
Exporting game maps. Turn a client's map into an MMO World map.
Macros. Record a run of edits and play it back on the same map or another one.
AI assistants. Studio speaks the Model Context Protocol, so an assistant such as Claude can open maps, place objects, take screenshots and plan an install while you watch.
Bug reports. Sign in to oldschoolops.com if you choose, and report a bug from inside Studio with its version and what was open attached.
Updates. Studio checks for a signed new version when it starts and installs it when you restart.
Moving from GoMMO Art. Your GoMMO Art and GoMMO Maps settings and recent folders come across the first time Studio runs.
