Features
- The download is everything you need. Server, website and a full playable game client in one archive, for Windows or Linux.
- No database to install. The server creates and manages its own database files on first start, and moves them into MySQL later if you decide you want it.
- An admin area on your own site. Sign in as an administrator to see who is playing, look up an account, promote somebody to staff, and change your server’s settings from a browser.
- Make the site your own. Set your own address, download links, chat link, class colours and the credit line at the bottom of the page. Leave any of them blank and it falls back to something sensible.
- A one-file Classic package. Point new players at a single download that installs the launcher already aimed at your server.
Improvements
- The website is about playing now. Your account, your characters, live server status, news, the changelog, the leaderboard and the download. Everything else is gone.
- Staff levels are one ladder. Player, moderator, game master, administrator and super administrator, granted per game and recognised by both the game and the website.
- HTTPS is a decision you make. The website serves plain HTTP until you name a public hostname for it, and then obtains and renews its own certificate.
- Your server talks to no one you did not tell it to. Chat integrations stay off until you configure them with your own account.
Fixes
- The website could come up before its database did and then refuse every login until it was restarted. It now waits, and says so clearly if the database never arrives.
- A fresh install could fail to serve its website at all while it tried to obtain a certificate for a hostname it did not own.
- The launcher installed the wrong edition when it was run on its own from an empty folder.
Known Issues
- The Golryun tournament arena is in the client and the server does not answer it yet, so the arena windows open and nothing happens.
- Pets, gift cards, the gamble machine, item enchanting and Dan battles are all presented by the client and are not implemented on the server.
- Premium zone restrictions are not enforced, so zones that should be gated are open to everybody.
- Teleport costs and cooldowns are placeholder numbers of our own, and will change.
- There is no way to reset a forgotten password from the website.
