Reported: Switching the RF Online: Dragonborn client from Taiwanese to English (or any other language pack) makes it drop at login, and the question is whether a guide exists for running it in English.
Found: There is no working English pack for this client, so there is no guide to give. The Dragonborn client is the final Taiwan build, and of the nine language folders it ships, only Traditional Chinese is complete for it. The others are wholly or partly copies from the older 4.15 client: the English item-name file still has the 4.15 layout, and the English text table holds 4,321 lines where the Taiwan one holds 6,997.
Pointing the client at one of those folders makes it load files built for a different version, which is the likely cause of the crash. We have not reproduced the crash itself. The server line in the report is the server seeing the client close the connection, which fits a crash on the client side.
The launcher added to the confusion: its nation help said the emulator is designed against the GB nation code, which is true of Golden Age and wrong for Dragonborn.
Fix:
- The Game Clients and Troubleshooting pages in the documentation now say Dragonborn runs in Traditional Chinese only, and why the other language folders do not work. The download's README says the same from the next RF Online: Dragonborn update.
- The launcher's nation help names each version's own code, TW for Dragonborn, from the next launcher update.
