RF455-085 RF 4.55: the magnet stone (Magnetic Jade, 地磁靈石) does nothing: no auto-loot, its effect code 103 is never read

Game server RF Online: Dragonborn v0.3.1 low · filed by cybercyber
New

Game: RF 4.55 (Dragonborn), server v0.3.1, Windows build (stock gameserver.exe). Client: the supported Taiwan build, RF_Online.bin SHA-256 46528aac…2bbc558 (2025-07-16), Language=Taiwan. Expected (wiki): Update 4.151 "Ataraxia's Arrival": the Magnetic Jade auto-loots monster drops, but not pit boss loot or player drops.

Related: RF455-052Released (held items whose effects do nothing). This one is a whole feature, not a rate.

Summary

  • The item exists (read). These are resourceitem (held "jade") rows in gamedata_rf455.db:
CodeRowClient name (TW NDItem.edf)nEffCodeCash / timed
iratl00511地磁靈石 4小時[Cash]103 ×1.0yes / yes
iratl01512地磁靈石103 ×1.0no / no
iratl02513地磁靈石 30天[Cash]103 ×1.0yes / yes
irsry02615地磁靈石[1天]103 ×1.0yes / yes

boxitem bxsry06 (地磁靈石箱子[1天]) gives the 1-day one. The DB's English name for these rows is mojibake, so the item can't be found by an English search.

  • The client text describes the wiki feature (read). Its strong magnetism pulls in dropped items, but "only drops the holder has loot rights to, not BOSS drops".
  • The server never reads code 103 (read), so holding it changes nothing. Loot still drops as item boxes that must be picked up by hand.

Server side (v0.3.1)

  • Held items are folded per effect code by (*Server).foldHaveEffectsAs 0x14087a880. It keeps codes below 0x53 and code 0x55 (cmp r11, 0x53; jb …; cmp r11, 0x55; jne at 0x14087aecf) and drops the rest, so 103 is dropped.
  • The only other reader of the held-effect table (haveEffectTable.get 0x140879e00) is holdsPremiumPass 0x1408e8680, which looks for code 0x62 (the premium pass).
  • No function compares with 0x67 in a loot, item-box, effect or premium context (the whole gameserver. package, disassembled). No symbol names auto-loot, magnet or pickup.
  • Loot path (read):
    • dropLoot 0x1407ffa00 → scatterLoot 0x1407ff920 → world.addItemBox 0x140984c60, then a broadcast.
    • A box is taken only on the client's 07/02 request, through handleItemBoxTake → world.takeItemBox.
    • The ownership window (takeCooldownActive) already gives the "loot rights" the item text asks for.

Suggested fix

  • When a monster's loot is created, check whether the owner (the player with loot rights) holds an effect-103 item. If so, grant the items straight into the bag (the same grant path handleItemBoxTake uses) instead of adding a box, or take the box for them at once.
  • Skip boss loot (the item text and the wiki both exclude it) and player drops.
  • If the bag is full, fall back to the ground box.

Local workaround

None. Pick up loot by hand.
