Animus, Guilds, Trade And An Election

Released 2026-08-09

The animus, player trading, founding a guild and the patriarch election are all in. Party health bars were reading at a tenth of their real value, and dropped loot never unlocked or expired.

Added

  • Animus. Cora can summon one, command it, point it at a target and put it away. It walks with you, goes home on its own if it has been idle too long, and it fights: it picks up whatever you attack, swings on its own timer, earns its own experience and levels up on its own curve. Its experience and health ride on the item, so it remembers what it learned across a relog. It can also be hurt and killed now, so it will tank for you and you can lose it.
  • Player to player trading. Ask someone to trade, put items and money on the table, both sides lock, both sides confirm. Either side can back out until the second confirm lands. While a trade is open you cannot equip, drop, sell, upgrade or auction the things you have staked.
  • Founding a guild. It costs 24,000,000 dalant and you have to be leading a party to do it.
  • The patriarch election. Candidates register, the race votes, and the winner takes the rank. This ties into the race ranking that was already here waiting for something to feed it. The cycle runs on its own schedule, so an election opens without anyone starting it.
  • The banker answers again. Walking up to the trunk NPC used to leave the client waiting on a reply that never came.
  • NPC quest lists. Asking an NPC what quests it has now returns the ones it actually offers, filtered by your level and by what you are already carrying.

Fixed

  • Party health, force and stamina bars were reading at a tenth of their real value. A party member at full health showed as almost empty, and a member you had just healed barely moved.
  • Leaving a two person party told the other player the wrong thing. They were sent a disband notice instead of a leave notice, so their party window did not clear properly. Getting kicked had the same problem.
  • Dropped loot never expired and never unlocked. A bag on the ground stayed locked to whoever killed the monster, forever, and never disappeared. It now unlocks after twenty seconds, fades at fifty, and is gone at sixty, which is what the original does.
  • A trade that failed part way through could destroy the items. Both sides were told the trade had worked before anything was written, and the items were taken away before they were handed over. The whole exchange is now one step: it either happens completely or not at all.
  • Party member positions and vitals were not being kept up to date while you played.
  • Cora and Accretia were being sent Bellato’s reply when the client asked for its animus data at login.
  • The class change prompt did not appear until you relogged after reaching the level for it.
  • Nobody could see anyone else cast a force, a skill or a class skill.
  • The pickup cooldown could carry between characters in a way that could refuse a legitimate pickup.
  • The animus AI kept running after the server was told to stop.
