Support for Custom Web Interfaces and Multiple Languages
Why it matters: Support for Custom Web Interfaces and Multiple Languages
Suggestion: Support for Custom Web Interfaces and Multiple Languages
As a user of this server emulator, I would like to suggest an improvement to the existing WebServer.
From what I can tell, the current WebServer already provides most of the functionality needed to interact with the server. However, the standard web interface may not be convenient for every community, particularly those whose primary language is not English.
For example, I would like to give a large number of real players access to the emulator so they can test it and help identify bugs and other issues. However, for this to be practical, I would need a web interface that is properly localized and tailored to the needs of my community.
It would be great if we could create alternative web interfaces without having to modify the existing WebServer itself. This would make it possible to translate the interface, customize its appearance, and add new features while retaining the functionality already provided by the server.
From my perspective, the most useful improvement would be to make the existing WebServer functionality accessible through a documented API and allow the web interface to be developed separately. This would give users more freedom in how they use and present the existing functionality.
The ability to create custom interfaces could also benefit other server owners and communities, allowing everyone to adapt the web interface to their own language and requirements.
Ultimately, my goal is to make the emulator more accessible to real players and encourage broader community testing, which could help us discover more bugs and improve the overall quality of the project.
Is there any existing documentation for the WebServer API that would make this possible? If not, I think documenting the existing functionality and making it accessible to custom web interfaces would be a very useful addition to the project.
