Where to Play
Both Gate to Heavens editions are live. What each one contains, what the difference is, and where to go.
The Game
Gate to Heavens is a 2003 fantasy MMORPG, rebuilt from scratch in Go. Four classes, 98 levels, and 23 worlds from the starting fields out to the Laznan dungeon floors and the Land of Ordeal.
| Class | Plays As |
|---|---|
| Warrior | Melee, physical, front line |
| Archer | Ranged physical, mental affinity |
| Mage | Fire and water casting |
| Psychic | Earth casting and support |
Both editions below share that world, those classes and that 98-level climb. What differs is the presentation and what has been built on top.
Gate to Heavens
A modern remake of the original game: the same world with a rebuilt interface and new systems on top, and where new work lands first. It is a development server rather than a finished game, and there is no release of it to run yourself. What that means.
Play at playgth.com.
Gate to Heavens Classic
The original game you remember, in its original presentation: the interface as it was, the original vocabulary, the original content.
Play at classic.playgth.com, or run your own. Classic is the edition you can download: what is in it.
They Are Separate Servers
Separate worlds, separate characters, separate client downloads. Your account works on both, because accounts are shared across everything we run, but a character belongs to one of them.
Self-Hosting
Classic is the edition with a release. It is the same kind of self-contained archive as the RF servers, so the setup documentation applies unchanged, with one difference that makes it the quickest server here to stand up: the client is in the archive. There is nothing to go and find.
Modern has no release and no date for one. If what you want today is a server you can run, it is Classic.
