The Place panel adds things to the map.

The Place panel

At the top, Add has a button for each kind the game lets you add, such as a spawn, an NPC, a portal or a region. Kinds that need a choice, such as which monster a spawn places, open a picker first. Below, Prop models is a searchable list of the client's prop models, with Import… for your own (see Importing models and building maps).

Click a kind or a model, then click the map where it should go. Hold Shift to place several; Esc stops. The new object is selected, ready for the inspector.

To plant many props at once, use the prop brush; to place a whole camp you saved before, use a prefab. Both are on Brushes, prefabs and the Tools panel.

Portals

Each portal's label names where it leads. A purple line joins a portal to a destination on the same map, and a red cross marks a portal whose destination does not exist; Problems lists those too. The Portal links layer hides both.

On Gate to Heavens, gates are kept consistent across the files the game spreads them over, and a gate can't be removed. On RF Online, a portal's entry in the client's map table and the server's map file are kept matched, including the items a portal requires.

Ore veins (RF Online)

On RF Online (Golden Age, Age of Patron and 4.55, with the server linked) you can add ore veins: a box players mine inside, with a grade that sets how long a dig takes. Install writes it into both the client's map table and the server, after the map's existing veins, so the veins already there keep working as before. Veins the client knows but the server has no entry for show as read-only Client-only veins.

Music zones (RF Online)

You can add, move, resize, turn and delete music zones: boxes where the client plays a music track, and, with Indoors set, treats the area as an interior. Install writes them into the map's own file, leaving the zones you did not touch exactly as they were.

Town zones (RF Online)

With the server linked, the server's town zones, the safe areas, can be added, moved, resized, turned and deleted the same way, and each has a race setting.

Area names (RF Online)

The Map tab of the inspector lists the map's named areas, the names the client shows on the minimap, in each language the client carries. Paint the area grid to change where each one is, rename one, or add a new one. Install writes the client's area table and the server's regions together.

The minimap (RF Online)

On the Map tab, Redraw from the map as it stands draws a new minimap from above, props included, over exactly the area the client's minimap covers. Install writes it into the client in place of the painted one; redraw again after further edits. A map you build from a scene gets its minimap drawn this way automatically.
