The Scene tab of the inspector sets up how the model is shown.
Moving around the model
The camera always orbits the model and always looks at it. You can't lose the model off screen.
| control | does |
|---|---|
| left-drag or right-drag | turn around the model |
| mouse wheel | zoom in and out |
| middle-drag, Shift + left-drag, Shift + wheel | move up and down the model's height |
| double-click, or F | reset the view |
Under Camera, the Scene tab has the same controls as sliders, Focus height and Zoom, plus Front, Side and Back buttons for exact views and Reset.
Background
Under Background:
- Studio: a soft backdrop that suits most models, in colours you choose.
- Solid colour and Gradient, in colours you choose.
- Checkerboard, to see the edges of transparent textures.
- Image: any picture of your own. Choose it with Choose imageā¦, or drop a picture onto the model view.
- Transparent, for screenshots you want to cut out. It shows as a checkerboard here.
- Game map: a map from the client itself, chosen from a list. Big maps take a moment to load. The model stands in the map's town or at its start point, on open level ground.
Lighting
Under Lighting, choose between:
- Game: lighting close to how the game itself lights the model;
- Studio: a three-light rig that shows more detail, for screenshots and checking a skin.
Light direction, Light height and Brightness move and dim the main light in either mode. Reset lighting puts them back.
View
Under View, Ground grid turns the floor grid on and off, and Shadow the soft shadow under characters and creatures. A transparent screenshot never has one. The other switches here are the debug views, and the Effects section is described with dress-up.
