The timeline under the model plays its animations.

The timeline

  • The animation list picks an animation, by the name the client gives it. Idle, walk and run come first where the game names them.
  • Play and pause, or press Space.
  • Step one frame back or forward with the buttons, or the Left and Right arrow keys.
  • Drag the timeline to scrub through the animation. Ticks under it mark each frame.
  • Loop repeats the animation, or stops it on its last frame.
  • The speed list runs from 0.1x to 2x.

The line beside the timeline shows the time and the frame you are on, and the line under it the animation's file.

Models without animation

Some creatures have no animations, and some items do. The timeline says so when a model has none.

Animation and the other tabs

Effects attached to a model, and a spell you are playing, pause and step with the animation, so a paused frame is a paused frame everywhere. An Animation GIF on the Capture tab records the animation once through; see Screenshots, GIFs and glTF export.
