Photo mode takes pictures of the map or model in front without the editor around it: no gizmos, labels, grid, selection boxes or panels. A photo is drawn at the size you choose, up to 8192 pixels on a side, however small the window is.

Taking a photo

  1. Bring a map or a model to the front.
  2. Press F9, or choose View > Photo mode. The map or model fills the window, cut to the shape of the photo, so what you see is what you get.
  3. Move the camera as you normally would. On a map, drag with either mouse button to look around, and use the arrow keys and the wheel to move. Nothing on the map can be selected or changed while photo mode is on.
  4. Pick a size from the bar at the bottom, then click Take photo.
  5. Press Esc or click Exit to go back to the editor.

Photos are saved to Pictures\GoMMO Studio\Photos\, named after the game, the map or model and the time. The folder button on the bar opens that folder.

The bar

choicedoes
sizeWindow size uses the picture you see; the others are 1080p, 1440p, 4K, 8K, a square and a portrait size
2× supersampledraws the photo at twice its size and scales it down, for smoother edges; skipped above 4096 pixels on a side
Transparentmodels only: leaves the background out, for a PNG you can put over anything

A glow over an empty background is lost in a transparent photo, because there is nothing behind it for it to light up.

From the command line

Add -photo to a start-up command to save a photo of the map or model it opens, then add -quit to close Studio when it is done:

gommostudio.exe -client "C:\Games\RF Online" -map NeutralA -photo C:\Shots\neutrala.png -photo-size 3840x2160 -quit
optiondoes
-photo <file.png>where to save the photo
-photo-size WIDTHxHEIGHTits size; 3840x2160 unless you say otherwise
-photo-ss=falseturns supersampling off
-photo-alphaa transparent background for a model
-after <ms>how long to wait for the map or model to load first (1500 by default)

-script positions the map's camera before the photo is taken, for example -script "select=prop:12;frame;select=" frames one object.

From an AI assistant

An assistant connected to Studio uses studio_photo with a width, a height and optionally supersample, transparent and a save path. It returns a preview of the photo and where the file went. studio_show with photo turns photo mode on or off in the window, so you can watch. See Working with an AI assistant.
