On RF Online, the Spells tab plays the client's own force and skill effects on the open model.
Choosing a spell
- Forces, Skills and Class skills switch the list.
- The list shows each one with its description; click one to choose it.
- Level runs from 1 to 7, and the effect changes with it where the client gives it one per level.
Spells the client has no effect script for are left out. A client with none says so.
Playing it
- Cast plays the casting effect on the character.
- Projectile plays what flies to the target, for a force; for a skill this is Activate.
- Impact plays the hit on the target.
- Full cast plays all of them in order, as the game does.
- Loop repeats the spell.
The projectile flies to a stand-in target in front of the model. Effects are placed at the parts of the model the game places them on, a weapon swing uses the weapon the character is holding, and a heavy impact shakes the camera.
Playing lists what is running, and Stop ends it.
Good to know
- Spells pause and step with the animation, so you can freeze a spell at any frame for a screenshot.
- A few effect features are not drawn yet: dynamic lights, sky fades and blur.
- Spell names come from the client's own tables on Golden Age; on other versions a spell may be listed by its file name.
