Barriers are RF Online's collision walls: lines on the ground that players and monsters can't walk through. They have a tool of their own, in the bar at the bottom right of the map.
Drawing a barrier
- Press B for Draw barrier, or switch it on in the bar.
- Click to place points. Each click adds an edge, and a ghost shows the next one.
- Press Esc or right-click to end the chain.
With a wall's end point or edge selected, hold Shift to continue from it without the tool.
Snapping and joining
- Near an existing barrier the cursor snaps to its point or edge, and a yellow marker shows where it will attach.
- Ending on the chain's own first point closes the loop.
- Ending on another barrier's free end joins the two.
- Barriers on another floor, above or below, are never snapped to.
- Grid in the bar rounds points to the chosen step.
Selecting and editing
- Click an edge to select it, and drag a box to select every edge inside.
- Press L to select every barrier linked to the selection.
- Drag a point to move it.
- Delete removes the selected edges and any point left without one.
- Height, in the bar, sets the height of the selected edges, or of whole barriers.
Every change is one step to undo, and Install writes the barriers into the map's collision file.
Walk grids in other games
Gate to Heavens and World of Kung Fu block movement with a painted grid rather than lines. Paint it on the inspector's Map tab; see The inspector and grid painting.
